Media & Sport

Allied to Colin’s interest in Intellectual Property is a lifelong involvement in media, sport and entertainment law.  Having worked for both the BBC and Mark McCormack’s IMG in London, Colin was initially involved in professional athlete representation and, later, in negotiating broadcasting contracts with well known television stations such as Canal France International, BBC, Sky, TnaG, UTV and RTE.

Colin also lectured for a number of years in sport, marketing and media at the Cork Institute of Technology.

Today, as a BBC and RTE television presenter and published author, Colin has experience in negotiating TV and book publishing deals and possesses a keen interest in related areas of law such as freedom of expression, libel and defamation.

As a member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, Colin attends Film Festivals around the world, representing his own and clients work. He provides advices on contractual and financing arrangements for films and television programmes, drawn into the sector initially due to his own business interests, as well as those of his family and friends.
